module #3
classification
Yikes, Module #2 had a lot of information, but it contained the meat of how to actually read the TPFDD. Now, let's take a look at another hot topic, Classification.
Classification has become a very important issue; we have to find a way to follow guidelines and make it harder for the bad guys. USCENTCOM has notified all MAJCOMs that they must follow the information contained in JOPES Vol III and their TPFDD Letter of Instruction. This makes it extremely difficult for you to accomplish your duties at homestation. Instead of thinking of ways to present this material to commanders and UDMs, think of innovative ways that allows you to safe guard information on the TPFDD with the least impact on units. In this module, you will need access to a SIPR computer.
There are three things for you to do, so let's get started.
1 - Watch the instructional video below.
2 - Review AFI 10-401, Chapter 8, Paragraphs 8.16 & 8.18, AFI 10-403, Chapter 1, Paragraph 1.8 - Chapter 5, Paragraph 5.4 (This is a lot, but things have recently changed and there is an abundance of new classification information throughout), and CJSCM 3122.02D (JOPES Vol III). Click HERE to go to the AFIs. The most current JOPES Vol III can be found on SIPR at 18 AF's EIM site.
3 - Complete Discussion Board post. There is only one post in this module. In your post, describe one action that you have implemented at your homestation to ensure classified information is properly secured IAW with USCENTCOM guidelines. OPTIONAL Extra Credit: In an effort to prevent additional classified message incidents (CMI), describe a CMI that has occurred in your office or at your homestation. If you have not had a CMI at you homestation, provide information from your MAJCOM to counter CMIs. Click HERE to go to the Discussion Board.
